The Raiders and the Miami Dolphins will conduct joint practices today and Friday in Tokyo in preparation for this weekend’s exhibition game. Because the Raiders are in an overseas game, they are permitted by the NFL to play a fifth exhibition.

“I think the fifth game is good,” Coach Art Shell said. “Of course, it would be nice to play in Canton, Ohio, (in the Hall of Fame game) but I’m looking forward to (this game).”

The game will be played in Tokyo Sunday, starting at 11 a.m. That is 7 p.m., PDT, Saturday.

Raider quarterback Jay Schroeder returns this week to the city where he made his only collegiate start at UCLA.

Schroeder played sparingly as a Bruin in two seasons before signing a baseball contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. His only start at UCLA came in the 1980 Mirage Bowl against Oregon State at Tokyo.

The Dolphins left Miami with 10 unsigned players, including their first-round draft choice, receiver Randal Hill. The Raiders have two unsigned veterans, defensive end Scott Davis and center Don Mosebar.
