The walking wounded around the Garden Grove League football ranks now include Rancho Alamitos tight end-defensive end Mike Grizzle, La Quinta fullback Bill Boulton and Garden Grove quarterback Simon Fuentes.
Grizzle sustained two fractures in his right shoulder while making a tackle in the Vaqueros’ 42-11 victory over Bakersfield Arvin on Saturday. Fuentes suffered a cracked left clavicle Friday in the Argonauts’ 14-7 victory over Laguna Hills. Boulton has been out since the first week of the season with a chipped vertebra in the neck.
Rancho Alamitos Coach Mark Miller said Grizzle will miss at least six weeks and Garden Grove boys’ Athletic Director Ron Zajec said Fuentes, who is right-handed, won’t return for at least three weeks. La Quinta Coach Roger Takahashi said Boulton could be ready for the Aztecs’ game against Pacifica (Oct. 18) or Rancho Alamitos (Oct. 24).
