Laguna Beach 45, Ontario Christian 0--The Artists stopped a two-game losing streak, rolling over the winless Knights in Laguna Beach.

Between the passing combination of junior quarterback Trig Garner and senior receiver Eric Fegraus and the running of senior halfback Keith Peery, Laguna Beach (2-2) had too many weapons for Ontario Christian (0-4).

It took the Artists only 1:07 to score on their first possession, with Fegraus catching an 11-yard pass from Garner to put Laguna up, 6-0.

The Artists scored the first six times they had the ball and went ahead at halftime, 38-0. Peery, a 160-pound running back, did the most damage, scoring three times in the first half on runs of 31, two and 16 yards. Peery also recovered a fumble that set up Laguna’s sixth touchdown of the half, a 13-yard run by junior running back Chris Faubert.

Garner, relying mostly on short swing passes that allowed receivers Fegraus, Luke Matjas and Kevin Karg to find running room outside, connected on 16 of his 18 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns.

While the Laguna Beach offense was scoring at will in the first half, the Artist defense, led by linebackers Charlie Williams and Dante Steel, held the Knights to 49 yards total offense.
