HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Venema Helps Littlerock Rush Past St. Genevieve

Quarterback Mitch Casey and fullback John Venema each rushed for two touchdowns Saturday to lead Littlerock High past St. Genevieve, 28-6, in a nonleague game at Littlerock.

Littlerock (4-1) scored on its first four possessions to take a 28-0 lead at halftime. Venema rushed for 111 yards in 23 carries. Casey scored on runs of 24 and 62 yards in his only two carries.

Venema scored the Lobos’ first and last touchdown on runs of 12 and seven yards.

St. Genevieve quarterback Jeremy Laccino completed 12 of 20 passes for 164 yards but threw three interceptions. Late in the fourth quarter, Laccino connected with Mike Mirolla for a nine-yard strike to give the Valiants (0-5) their only score.
