In other Mission Conference football games:

Golden West 33, Southwestern 6--The Rustlers (4-0, 3-0) returned an interception and a punt for touchdowns and blocked a punt that produced a touchdown while defeating Southwestern at Orange Coast.

In the first quarter, Mike Fardette returned an interception 41 yards and Wesley Kollar took a lateral and went the final 15 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. Golden West led, 16-3, at the half.

Fullerton 27, Mt. San Antonio College 17--Brian Williams scored four touchdowns and rushed for 154 yards in 26 carries for Fullerton (3-1, 2-1). Williams scored the first touchdown on a 16-yard run in the first quarter to give Fullerton a permanent lead. David Pierson completed seven of 14 passes for 117 yards.

Mt. San Antonio is 3-2, 1-2.

Orange Coast 56, San Diego City 6--Host Orange Coast (4-0, 3-0) set a school record for largest victory margin. Quarterback Donnie Smith was nine for 19 for 170 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for another. OCC is ranked 10th in the national J.C. Grid-Wire poll.

OCC’s Shane Sherman rushed for 115 yards, including a 17-yard touchdown run, and also scored on a 31-yard screen-pass play. San Diego City is 0-5, 0-3.

Saddleback 42, Grossmont 10--Marcellus Chrishon scored three touchdowns, and Tim Snowden completed 14 of 23 passes for 182 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown pass to Dave Poltl for visiting Saddleback (3-1, 2-1).

The victory was the 125th for Coach Ken Swearingen at Saddleback and the 223rd of his career.

In the Santa Barbara Invitational cross-country meet:

Irvine Valley Women Win, Rancho Santiago Men Second--Sue Davis placed third in 19:12 for Irvine Valley College, which won with 29 points. Rancho Santiago’s men scored 64 points to finish second behind Long Beach City, which had 22.

Eddie Salinas of Rancho Santiago finished seventh in 21:58 over four miles. Teammate Osvaldo Serna was two seconds behind.

At the Santa Barbara women’s volleyball Tournament of Champions:

Golden West Advances--Traci Schriber had 15 kills and Margret Weese had 45 assists in a 15-4, 15-12, 15-17, 15-11 victory over Cuesta. Top-ranked Golden West (6-0, 1-0) will play No. 2 Cerritos in the finals at 10:30 a.m. today.
