Schutt Paces SDSU Attack in Volleyball

The San Diego State women’s volleyball team, led by Gracie Schutt’s 27 kills, defeated William and Mary, 12-15, 15-5, 15-3, 16-14, in a nonconference match Sunday at Peterson Gym.

Schutt also led the Aztecs (9-10) with three service aces. Jennifer Miller (18) and Shannon Mathew (12) combined for another 30 kills. William and Mary is 13-3.

MEN’S SOCCER

Former University City High player Yari Allnutt scored once and Joe Leonetti twice to lead Portland to a 4-0 victory over visiting University of San Diego in a West Coast Conference match. USD fell to 4-7; Portland improved to 10-4,

UC San Diego scored four goals in the second half en route to a 5-0 rout over visiting St. Mary’s. Mike Alberts scored two of those goals within five minutes. Mike Lodoen, Chris Romey and Sergio Salvador scored the others. UCSD is 8-4; St. Mary’s is 4-6.
