Anton Villanueva scored on a 20-yard run to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead with 5 minutes 24 seconds left in the first quarter.

J.J. Wilson caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from O’Brien midway through the second quarter to push the lead to 14-0.

Ireland made it 21-0 with 26 seconds left in the half on a two-yard run and added his other two touchdowns in the second half.

O’Brien completed 10 of 15 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns. Four Santa Margarita players caught two passes each.

“We’ve definitely picked things up the last two weeks,” said Santa Margarita Coach Jim Hartigan, whose team beat Servite last week. “Our goal is to win the rest of our games for a 7-3 record and to make the playoffs. I think we have a good chance of doing that if we keep improving.”

Villanueva rushed for 55 yards on eight carries.
