Schurr 23, Burbank 3--Defending league champion Schurr (5-1, 1-0) rolled up 283 yards in total offense to post an easy win at Burroughs High.
Schurr quarterback Ray Donahue completed eight of 12 passes for 136 yards and a 15-yard touchdown pass to running back Louis Farias. Donahue also added an 18-yard scoring run as the Spartans scored twice in the final period to open up a tight 9-3 game.
Burbank (3-3, 0-1) grabbed a 3-0 lead when Alfonso Velasco kicked a 32-yard field goal on the Bulldogs’ first possession.
