ROUNDUP : Kocur Sparks Royal to Water Polo Win

Jack Kocur scored seven goals to lead Royal High past Thousand Oaks, 15-3, in a Marmonte League water polo match Wednesday at Thousand Oaks.

Mike Radka added five goals and Ralph Radka saved 11 shots on goal for Royal.

With the victory, Royal extended its league winning streak to 43 matches.

The Highlanders improved to 16-3 overall, 5-0 in league play.

TENNIS

Harvard-Westlake 12, Cate 6--Sophomore Lindsay Wasserman defeated each of her four Cate opponents and extended her record to 36-0 in singles sets to lead Westlake to victory in a nonleague match at the Racquet Center in Studio City.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Cal Lutheran 10, Occidental 0--Rachel Wackerman and Rebecca Bloomer each scored three goals to pace the Regals to a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer victory over Occidental at Cal Lutheran.

Wackerman started the scoring at the 12-minute mark, notching her 24th goal of the season. Stephanie Gainey scored two minutes later, helping Cal Lutheran to a 5-0 halftime lead.

Wackerman added an assist in the second half to go with her third goal of the match.

Goalie JoAnn Vanderwall posted her ninth shutout in 10 conference matches for CLU (13-3, 10-0).

Occidental is 3-10, 3-6.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Reseda d. Taft, 15-11, 14-16, 15-8, 4-15, 15-12--Tracy Dockery had 17 kills and Jill Pomrantz added 10 for Reseda (5-6, 3-5) in a Northwest Valley League match at Taft.

Amy Silber had 10 kills for Taft (1-7 in league play).

Chatsworth d. Kennedy, 15-1, 13-15, 15-8, 15-2--Jody Paperno had 10 kills and Gigi Ghattas added eight to lead Chatsworth (9-3, 7-1) in a Northwest Valley League match at Chatsworth.

GIRLS’ CROSS-COUNTRY

Buena 15, San Marcos 50; Buena 15, Hueneme (no score)--The Bulldogs (7-0) earned their ninth consecutive Channel League title by beating San Marcos and Hueneme in a dual meet at Bubbling Springs Park in Port Hueneme.

Buena swept the top five places, led by Megan Ellis who finished first in 19 minutes 35 seconds.

She was followed by Christy Ruffin (19:36), Miriam Niednagel (20:05), Amy Van Atta (20:12) and Amarissa Hernandez (21:09.

The Bulldogs have won 65 consecutive dual meets dating to 1982.
