OUTLOOK
Huntington Beach was knocked out of the playoffs with a season-ending 21-14 loss to Edison that threw the league into a three-way tie for second place behind champion Santa Ana. The Oilers lost a coin flip to Edison and Marina to determine the league’s No. 2 and No. 3 representatives and then was overlooked as an at-large entry in the Division I playoffs. “I think last year’s ending will make the players even more determined this year,” Pascoe said. “We could be good. If Jon Wimbish has the type of season that I think he’s capable of having, we’ll have a good year.” The secondary is the team’s strength were all-leaguers Arakaki and Wimbish return. Yadrick is a transfer from Minnesota where he played on the runner-up in the state’s large school championship game. Gonzalez, a tight end and linebacker, is the best overall player.
