OUTLOOK

One of the county’s most consistent programs, and there’s no reason to think that won’t continue. The Griffins have won six league titles in the past 10 years and have finished lower than second only once in that time. They finished second last season, but were eliminated in the second round of the Division I-A playoffs. The Griffins should challenge for the league title again this season. They lost guard Steve Carbone (18.4 points) to graduation, but there’s plenty of talent back. Lin, the team’s point guard, is a two-time all-league pick. He averaged 14.7 points and 6.4 assists and is a good outside shooter. Staniec was an all-league selection last season and has good moves around the basket. He averaged 15.6 points and six rebounds and shot 57% from the field. Doyle averaged 6.6 rebounds. That gives Brooks three solid starters back. There is talent to fill the other holes. Vandervoet gives them a third experienced big man and could allow Brooks to start one of the tallest front lines in the county.
