INJURED: Two CSUN softball players are recovering from a Friday night collision that left an apparently drunk driver dead. Traci Gallian, 19, and Shelby Wilcox, 20, were in Morro Bay, en route to a teammate’s wedding, when their car was hit. Wilcox should fully recover, but not in time to play ball this season. She suffered a fractured skull, broken thigh bone and broken hand but may be released from the hospital this week. “I feel I’ve been gypped of the next six months,” Wilcox says. Gallian was released earlier. She broke her collarbone.

HOOPS: Cal State Northridge’s two-game winning streak was broken when the Matadors lost, 116-54, against No. 17 Cincinnati. (C2) . . . It was the most lopsided defeat this year for the Matadors, who started the season with a 23-point loss to No. 2 UCLA.

BORN TO BE RICH: Oliver Shokouh, above, left the Motor City in the ‘70s to make it in motorcycles. He bought a Harley-Davidson dealership in Glendale. His friends told him it didn’t make any sense, and they seemed right. But it sure has made a lot of dollars. . . . His sales have nearly quadrupled since 1982. “I believed in the product,” he says. “Somebody had to keep it going.” See Valley Business, Page 3.

RECORD: Valley foreclosures went through the roof this year, though they should slow down in 1995. . . . But what’s been bad for property values has been good for Woodland Hills realtor Stephen Kaseno. Since he began selling just foreclosures--or real estate-owned properties--his income has gone up 300%. In this market, he says, “the three letters REO make all the difference.” See Valley Business, Page 8.

SENIOR SPIRIT: This is not a very jolly season for many seniors. Spouses and friends have passed away; children have moved away. Fortunately, Valley agencies have come up with activities during the holidays (B1). . . . “Seniors still want to be as active and as giving as when they were young,” says Dr. Maria Jimakas, a clinical psychologist.
