COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Southern California College Edges Concordia

Matt Baker pitched out of a ninth-inning jam to record his first save and lead Southern California College past Concordia, 4-3, in a Golden State Athletic Conference game Thursday.
Baker came in after the Eagles (5-9, 2-4) had scored two runs in the inning.
Brett Hlista gave the visiting Vanguards (5-10, 1-2) the early lead with a home run in SCC’s three-run first inning.
Jeff Beckley improved to 3-2.
In Big West Conference women’s basketball:
New Mexico State 65, Long Beach State 60--Melissa Gower had 40 points for Long Beach (13-12, 10-7). Anita Maxwell had 28 points for New Mexico State (19-7, 14-3).
In Golden State Athletic Conference softball:
Southern California College 2-1, Azusa Pacific 1-2--Jennifer Wolf had a double and triple on the day for Southern California College (8-8, 1-1).
