Mater Dei 3, Trabuco Hills 1--Mark Pozsgai had 22 kills and Glendon Foster had 22 blocks for Mater Dei (6-3, 2-1), which won, 15-9, 15-13, 10-15, 16-14.

In the Sea View League:

Irvine 3, El Toro 2--Fourth-ranked Irvine (8-1, 3-0) held off seventh-ranked El Toro (4-6, 2-1) for a 15-10, 17-15, 6-15, 11-15, 15-9 victory. Outside hitter Steve Hilbert had 21 kills and Bill Coblentz had 16 for El Toro.

Newport Harbor 3, Woodbridge 0--Greg Slick had 19 kills and Max Spooner had 45 assists for unranked Newport Harbor (4-3, 2-1), which beat eight-ranked Woodbridge (5-4, 0-3), 15-10, 15-10, 15-12.

In Golden West League golf:

Servite 196, Westminster 227--Junior Jeff McGraw shot a two-under 34 for host Servite (7-1, 1-0) at Hacienda Country Club. It was McGraw’s fifth below-par round in eight matches this season.

In Orange League golf:

Valencia 201, Brea Olinda 213--Senior James Wooley made three birdies on his way to a two-under-par 35 for Valencia (11-1, 3-0) at Alta Vista.

In Century League boys’ tennis:

Foothill 17, Santa Ana Valley 1--Ian Chen and Jon Yeh swept in doubles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, for fourth-ranked Foothill (11-1, 4-0).

In the Freeway League:

Sunny Hills 14, La Habra 4--Davis Lee won in singles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, for second-ranked Sunny Hills (10-0, 4-0).

Troy 17, Buena Park 1--Francisco Villaroman, who didn’t lose a game at No. 1 singles, improved to 26-1 on the season for visiting Troy (10-1, 4-1).

In the South Coast League:

Dana Hills 12, Mission Viejo 6--Top-ranked Dana Hills bounced back from Monday’s loss to No. 3 Woodbridge and defeated the sixth-ranked Diablos. Brandon Fallon swept, 6-4, 6-0, 6-0, for the Dolphins (10-1-1, 3-0).

In Sunset League girls’ swimming:

Los Alamitos 118, Esperanza 68--Joanna O’Kelley won the 200 freestyle (2:00.14) and 100 freestyle (57.81) and Adrienne Paradeise won the 50 freestyle (26.72) and 100 butterfly (1:02.17) for host Los Alamitos (5-2, 2-1).
