SCC Basketball Team Gets Two O.C. Recruits

Bill Reynolds, coach of the Southern California College men's basketball team, has signed two area players he says "will come in and have an immediate impact."

Coming in the fall will be 6-0 guard Adam Dzierzynski, formerly of Santa Margarita High and Chapman University, and 6-6 forward Rod Scheuerman, who went to Tustin High and is transferring from Golden West College, Reynolds said.

Dzierzynski, who left Chapman after his sophomore year and sat out last season, averaged 15 points and nine assists in the 1994-95 season and made second-team All-Western Region.

Scheuerman, a first-team All-Empire League selection, averaged 19.5 points and 9.1 rebounds last season.

Laguna Beach kicker Brad Bohn, 18, has signed a letter of intent with Utah State, according to his father, Alan Bohn.

Bohn, who selected Utah State over San Jose State, Arizona State and UNLV, is the first Laguna Beach football player to sign with a Division I school since Pete Schmidt went to Oklahoma in 1986. Last season he kicked five field goals and seven extra points for the Artists.

Sharon Gillis, a defender for the Fountain Valley girls' soccer team, signed a letter of intent to attend Arizona State this fall.
