Mark Miller has been named football coach at Santa Ana High, boys’ Athletic Director Frank Alvarado announced.

Miller was varsity coach at Rancho Alamitos from 1986-92. The Vaqueros were 42-26-1 in that time and lost to Sunny Hills in the 1992 Southern Section Division VII final. For the last three seasons he has been a lower-level football coach at Trabuco Hills.

Miller, 40, will teach math at Santa Ana. He replaces Robert Hinman, who compiled a 5-35 record in four years at Santa Ana.
