Senior Cesar Alamillo pitched a perfect game in Marshall’s 9-0 victory over Belmont on Tuesday. The right-hander collected six strikeouts in earning his first victory of the season. Only three balls made it out of the infield, and Alamillo pitched out of 3-0 counts four times. . . . Palisades leads the Coastal Conference with a 12-3 record, 16-8 overall. The Dolphins defeated University twice last week, the first time they have defeated the Warriors since 1989. Pitcher Anthony Matera has led Palisades with a 9-1 record, 1.43 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 61 innings. . . . Downey Warren won the San Gabriel Valley league title with a 7-2 victory over Cerritos Gahr on Tuesday. It was the first outright league title for Warren since 1978, and it was particularly sweet, coming at the expense of the five-time defending champions. The Bears (16-7) were led by senior Matt Sorensen, who pitched a five-hitter and struck out 10. . . . Palos Verdes Peninsula clinched the Bay League title by defeating North Torrance, 7-3, Tuesday. Jeff Lassiter got the complete-game victory for the Panthers (18-7, 11-2). Derek Larkins had two doubles and three RBIs.
