* Wide receiver Cameron Perry and volleyball player Heather Hofmans have been selected Northridge’s athletes of the month for October.

Perry, a junior, had 23 receptions for 294 yards and three touchdowns in four games last month.

Hofmans, a senior setter, had 414 assists, 90 digs, 21 blocks and 32 kills in nine matches last month, during which Northridge compiled an 8-1 record.

* Wide receiver Jermaine Brooks of Pierce College and defensive back Kerry Miller of Moorpark were selected players of the week in the Western State Conference.

Brooks, a sophomore from Highland High, had seven receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-40 loss to Santa Barbara.

Miller, a sophomore from South Carolina, made six tackles and intercepted two passes in a 48-6 victory over Harbor.

* Andrew Williams, Gustavo Durruty and Bryan Lee of The Master’s College have been selected to the All-NAIA Far West Region soccer team.

Williams, a sophomore sweeper, and Durruty, a senior midfielder, were chosen to the first team. Lee, a junior forward, was selected to the second team.

He was also honored as the region’s player of the week after scoring five goals and adding two assists in a pair of Mustang victories.

* For the second year in a row, senior outside hitter Tracy Little of Cal Lutheran was selected the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s player of the year.

Little, a four-year starter for the Regals, has a team-high totals of 292 kills and 330 digs, including 142 kills and 174 digs in SCIAC play.

Junior setter Liz Martinez and senior middle blocker Karen Kasper also earned All-SCIAC honors.

Martinez has 755 assists, including 401 in conference play, as well as a team-high 40 aces.

Kasper is second on the team with 222 kills and leads the Regals with 33 solo blocks and 23 block assists.

Junior outside hitter Jennifer Pappas was named to the all-conference second team. She has 185 kills and 182 digs (88 and 91 in SCIAC play).
