Share

Former Crespi High and Pierce College standout Mike Glendenning has been putting on a show with his power.

Entering Thursday’s play, the Bakersfield outfielder had hit five home runs in the previous five days, including two in a 7-4 victory over San Jose on Wednesday. He drove in five runs that game.

Glendenning, 20, moved up to No. 2 in the California League with 24 homers, trailing teammate Damon Minor (25). Glendenning had 69 runs batted in and a .263 average. But strikeouts remain a problem--Glendenning has 111 in 372 at-bats.
