The 32-school Long Beach Millikan tournament, the season’s first major water polo contest, begins today and includes four of the county’s top 10 teams. Capistrano Valley, ranked second in the Orange County Coaches’ preseason poll, will join Villa Park (ranked No. 4), Los Alamitos (No. 7) and Santa Margarita (No. 9) in the three-day tournament.

Games start at 3 p.m. today and Friday at four schools: Long Beach Millikan, Long Beach Jordan, Downey and Trabuco Hills. The championship round starts at 9 a.m. Saturday at Long Beach Belmont Plaza Pool, with the championship final set for 3:30 p.m.
