Santa Margarita Surprises Villa Park in Water Polo

Santa Margarita, ranked ninth in Division I boys’ water polo, beat sixth-ranked Villa Park, 8-5, Friday to advance to the semifinals of the Long Beach Millikan tournament.
Frank Uxa had three goals to lead the Eagles. Both teams are 3-1.
In another tournament game:
Los Alamitos 9, Long Beach Wilson 4--Tyler and Trevor Wawrzynski combined for five goals to lead Los Alamitos in its quarterfinal victory. The Griffins play North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake 11:30 a.m.
In the Riverside Poly Tournament:
Sunny Hills 14, South Pasadena 8--Sunny Hills’ quarterfinal victory gave Coach Keith Nighswonger his 200th career victory. Alex Stupin and Edwin Barrera each scored five goals for Sunny Hills (6-3). The Lancers play Rowland Heights Rowland in a semifinal today.
