Hart Coach, Principal to Discuss Incident
Hart High girls’ basketball Coach Dave Munroe will meet with school Principal Gary Fuller today to discuss an incident in which Munroe said he accidentally slapped a player on the wrist.
Parents of team members met for 30 minutes with school administrators Monday night after Hart’s 50-40 victory against Littlerock to discuss the Dec. 20 incident, in which Munroe said he accidentally slapped the wrist of sophomore Christina Sanchez during a game against Newbury Park.
“I apologized to the player, I apologized to the parents and I apologized to the team,” said Munroe, who is in his ninth year at Hart. “It was a slap on the wrist, but it shouldn’t have happened. I can’t take it back, but it was intended for the knee and she put her hands down [on her knee].”
