All-Star Volleyball Teams Named

Newport Harbor will be well-represented at the Dave Mohs Orange County High School Volleyball All-Star Matches Friday night at Newport Harbor High.

Four members of the Sailors’ boys’ team, which won the Southern Section Division I championship Saturday, and three members of the girls’ team, which won the section Division I-AA and state Division I titles last fall, will play for the South squads in the 23rd edition of the annual seniors-only event.

Ty Tramblie, a setter headed for Cal State Northridge, will be joined by Newport Harbor teammates Alan Limon, an outside hitter going to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo; middle blocker Adam Hearlson, who will attend Chapman, and outside hitter Matt Jameson, headed for Tulane. The boys’ match begins at 7:30 p.m.

Setter Jennifer Carey will be joined by her Newport Harbor teammates Marrisa Cothran, another setter, and middle blocker Kathy Lavold. The girls’ match begins at 6 p.m.
