Orange Coast Probable Site for Division VI Rematch

Irvine will get a chance to avenge last season’s Southern Section Division VI championship loss to Newport Harbor when the teams play again Friday, most likely at Orange Coast College, Newport Harbor Athletic Director Eric Tweit said.

The Sailors (11-2) defeated Irvine, 19-18, at OCC to win last year’s title, but the Vaqueros (13-0) returned the favor with a 19-14 victory when the teams met this season in Week 6.

In Division IX, fourth-seeded La Habra (12-1) makes its second championship game appearance when it plays second-seeded West Covina South Hills (12-1) Friday at 7 p.m. at Covina District Stadium.

Orange Lutheran will attempt to win its first football title at 7:30 p.m. Saturday when the third-seeded Lancers (11-2) play top-seeded Ventura St. Bonaventure (13-0) at Ventura High.
