Volleyball Teams Get High Seeding

Chaminade and Village Christian highs earned top-four seedings in the Southern Section Division III boys’ volleyball playoffs.
The same can’t be said for traditional powers Royal and Highland, who face a tough road in Division I.
Chaminade (15-3) was seeded No. 2 and Village Christian (21-0) was No. 3 in the lowest division.
Chaminade, which tied for second in the Mission League, hosts Cate on Friday. Village Christian, which won the Alpha League title, hosts Brethren Christian in the first round Thursday.
In Division I, Royal hosts the winner of a wild-card match Wednesday between Glendale and Hart. Highland hosts the winner of a wild-card match between Camarillo and Simi Valley.
Royal (17-3), ranked No. 1 in the region by The Times for virtually the entire season, might play Santa Margarita in the second round. Highland (13-0), ranked No. 2 in the region, might play Loyola in the second round. Santa Margarita and Loyola are ranked in the latest Division I top-10 poll.
