In another men’s playoff game:

L.A. Valley 84, Fullerton 80--The Hornets’ Levar Grace missed a three-pointer with nine seconds left and L.A. Valley’s DaMarcus Ellis then made two free throws with five seconds remaining to clinch the victory.

Romel Beck had 26 points and J.J. Sola 21 for Fullerton (22-11).

In the second round of the women’s Southern California regional:

Irvine Valley 76, L.A. Valley 60--Shannon Owens had 17 points and 11 rebounds, Amber Avestruz had 15 points and Dawn Regan had 13 points and 13 rebounds for Irvine Valley (22-10), which advanced to a third-round game against second-seeded Mt. San Antonio Saturday. The winner of that game will advance to the state finals.

Santa Ana 81, Glendale 78--The Dons (25-6) will have a chance to advance to the state tournament for the second year in a row, when they play Riverside at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Acheve Barre scored 18 points for the Dons.

Marily Dubon finished with 37 points for Glendale (18-14).
