Prep Team Wins Battle of Bored, 5-2
There’s no shot clock in high school basketball in Vermont. Too bad for spectators at the boys’ game Wednesday between Bellows Free Academy of Fairfax and Milton.
Bellows Free Academy made a three-point shot in the second quarter and that was enough in a 5-2 victory. Neither team scored in the second half of a game in which an undermanned Milton team used a stalling strategy.
“It had to have been one of the most boring games in the world,” said Bob Johnson, student activities director for the Vermont Principals’ Assn.
It was not known whether it was a record low for the state. The national record is 1-0, last done in 1930.
