Football: The Roosevelt-Garfield rivalry lives on

Share

Now that L.A. Roosevelt is in the spotlight after some 300 students figured out how to skirt security measures on their LAUSD-issued iPads, it only seems reasonable that the football coach at neighborhood rival Garfield should have a comment.

“That’s why they are 4-0. They are very intelligent at Roosevelt,” Garfield Coach Lorenzo Hernandez said.

When Garfield students eventually get their iPads, we’ll have to see which ones can duplicate the accomplishment of Roosevelt students.

The two football teams are set to meet on Nov. 1 at East Los Angeles College. Don’t be surprised if Garfield students come up with an iPad or two to wave in the bleachers.
