Baseball: Damien and Grant Hockin cruise to 10-2 win over South Hills

Maybe it was jet lag from last week’s trip to South Carolina (just joking), but South Hills sure picked the wrong day to turn in a poor performance in losing to Damien, 10-2, on Wednesday in a game for first place in the Sierra League.

UCLA signee Grant Hockin was in control from the outset, striking out six, walking none and allowing five hits in a six-inning performance that improved his record to 7-0. He also had a triple and two-run single.

South Hills (12-2-1, 3-1) committed four errors and did little hitting except for a two-run home run by Francisco Ramirez in the sixth inning.
