Baseball: Glendora gets three home runs to improve to 4-0

Glendora (4-0) advanced to the championship game of the Don Lugo tournament with an 11-0 win over El Rancho.

Jake Nelson struck out 10 in six innings and sophomores Caleb Watkins and Griffen Herrera and senior DJ Peters hit home runs.

San Clemente’s Kolby Allard struck out the first nine batters and had 11 strikeouts in five innings in his team’s 1-0 win over Sonora.

Sophomore catcher Nick Kahle went four for four to help Chaminade defeat Valencia, 6-3, to advance to the quarterfinals of the Easton tournament. Dylan Suppan picked up the victory. Sophomore Tom Costello got the save.

Alhambra ace Marco Briones struck out 11 and allowed two hits in a 4-0 win over Beverly Hills. Narbonne defeated Bellflower, 8-0, behind Daniel Rocha, who struck out six in five shutout innings. Arnoldo Solis had three hits.

Santa Margarita opened with a 4-2 win over Long Beach Poly. Nick Meyer had three hits. Dillon Miyashiro threw five shutout innings.

Defending Division 2 champion Cypress picked up a 4-3 win over Loara, scoring a run in the seventh.

Christian Koss had three hits and Austin Pritchard delivered the game-winning RBI in the seventh in Riverside North’s 2-1 win over Heritage.

Long Beach Wilson defeated Savannah, 8-2. Max Cauble and Sean Williams each hit two-run home runs.

Peter Beattie struck out 11 and allowed two hits in Ayala’s 5-0 win over Big Bear.

Andre Villareal had three hits and Jason Yanez had three RBIs in Banning’s 11-0 win over Bishop Montgomery. Hamilton defeated Temple City, 3-0.

California defeated Mayfair, 1-0. Daniel Alvarez, a junior, threw a four-hitter with eight strikeouts.

Damien defeated La Salle, 7-2. Grant Hockin had three RBIs and also threw five innings. Cleveland defeated Highland, 6-0. Ben Kaser gave up two hits in six innings and Jorge Naverrete had two hits and two RBIs.

North Hollywood defeated Venice, 10-0. Andrew Marmor threw the shutout.

St. John Bosco defeated North Torrance, 4-2, behind five shutout innings from sophomore pitcher Brandon Moore.
