Baseball: VIBL playoffs begin this week
Woodland Hills West, made up of players from El Camino Real, is the top seed for the Valley Invitational Baseball League playoffs that begin on Tuesday and Thursday this week.
Saugus and Hart are the other top seeds in the tournament that concludes on July 24 with the championship game at 7 p.m. at Birmingham High.
Outfielder Dylan Hirsch and shortstop Colton Snyder have led the Conquistadores, who will go with All-City pitcher Jeremy Polon on the mound on Thursday.
Several teams have pulled out of the playoffs to compete in another tournament.
