Boys’ basketball: Chino Hills is 12-0 after exceeding 100 points for the sixth time this season

Despite Lonzo Ball picking up four fouls in the first half, unbeaten Chino Hills (12-0) yawned and moved on en route to a 124-93 victory over Georgia Jonesboro to advance to the championship game of the MaxPreps Holiday Classic at Rancho Mirage.

It was the sixth time this season the Huskies have scored 100 or more points. LiAngelo Ball scored 41 points and Lonzo Ball 23 points. Chino Hills will face Redondo in Wednesday’s final at Rancho Mirage. Morgan Means socred 26 points to lead Redondo past Bishop Gorman, 77-69. Ryse Williams added 23 points.

In other MaxPreps games, Santa Monica defeated Etiwanda, 57-51. Jonah Mathews had 23 points. Santa Margarita defeated Moreau Catholic, 70-55. Kaden Rasheed led the Eagles with 17 points.

Harvard-Westlake improved to 11-1 with a 57-55 win over Arizona Saguaro. Freshman Cassius Stanley contributed 22 points and seven rebounds. Wolfgang Novogratz had the game-winning basket. The Wolverines will face St. John Bosco (12-1), a 67-28 wnner over Antioch. Gardena Serra defeated Oregon Franklin, 56-54. Viewpoint defeated Sierra Vista, 65-51, with Aram Arslanian scoring 32 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Alemany (9-3) defeated Milwaukee Rufus King, 86-83, in overtime. Shacquille Dawkins finished with 26 points, Brandon Davis had 19 and Earnie Sears 17. Villa Park defeated Edison, 72-52. Windward lost to Seattle Prep, 59-58.

Damien defeated Catalina Foothills, 63-36. Isaiah White had 17 points and Bryce Peters 15.

Santa Ana Foothill reached the championship game of the Orange County tournament with a 52-51 win over La Mirada. Foothill will play Esperanza in the final.

In the D1 Bound tournament, Calabasas (9-3) advanced to Wednesday’s 7:30 p.m. championship game at Dorsey with a 69-64 win over Cathedral. Ryan Murphy scored 33 points for the Coyotes. Milan Acquaah had 37 points for Cathedral, which gets Alemany transfer Daron Henson eligible on Monday. The Coyotes will face unbeaten Bishop Montgomery in the final. Bishop Montgomery defeated West Ranch, 86-39.

Dorsey defeated Loyola, 66-63. Lafayette Dorsey had 22 points and Tommie Groce 20. Inglewood defeated Dominguez, 67-49. Bernstein defeated Verdugo Hills, 73-51. La Canada defeated St. Francis, 54-51. Narbonne defeated San Marcos, 69-59. Psalm Maduakor had 21 points. Westchester defeated Maranatha, 63-51.

Ayala received a three-pointer with six seconds left from Miles President to defeat Marin Catholic, 73-70.

In the Chaminade tournament, the host Eagles advanced to Wednesday’s 7 p.m. championship game against Taft with a 60-56 win over Palisades. Josh Hauser scored 22 poins. George Brown had 18 points and Will Johnson 16 for Palisades. Taft defeated Village Christian, 76-61. Kihei Clark had 22 points and Brandon Thomas 20.

In consolation games, Marshall defeated Reseda, 62-43. Muir defeated Lancaser, 64-54.

In San Diego, Fairfax advanced to the championship game of its division in the Under Armour Holiday Classic with a 49-42 win over Army Navy. Ethan Anderson scored 10 points. The Lions will play Corona Centennial (10-2) in the final. Centennial defeated Foothills Christian, 67-52. Jordan Griffin scored 24 points and Jalen Hill 18.

One night after scoring 51 points, Eyassu Worku of Los Alamitos scored 33 points in a 75-63 win over San Marcos.

Gahr defeated Arizona Highland, 69-63. Marvin Bragg scored 20 points. Chibueze Jacobs scored 27 points and Jonathan Stretesky added 20 in Sherman Oaks Notre Dame’s 73-48 win over Douglas. Oak Park defeated Mayfair, 65-56. Riley Battin had 34 points.

Servite defeated Washington Kentridge, 58-56. Pearson Parker scored 24 points. Tesoro defeated Yorba Linda, 45-41.

In Arizona, Orange Lutheran (10-2) defeated Gilbert, 59-40. Chris Williams scored 16 points and Zac Jervis 14.

At Modesto Christian, Long Beach Poly advanced to the championship game with a 49-43 win over Immanuel. El Camino Real lost to Weston Ranch, 57-53. Brandon Russell finished with 23 points.

In Santa Barbara, Westlake defeaed Royal, 57-38. Adam Hess had 15 points and seven rebounds. Arroyo Grande handed Flintridge Prep its first defeat, 53-48. Dante Fregoso had 16 points for Flintridge Prep (7-1).

Downey defeated Simi Valley, 73-62. Kyle Hamilton and Kaden Young had 13 points each for Simi Valley.

In South Carolina, Santa Ana Mater Dei (12-1) suffered its first defeat, falling to St. John’s of Washington D.C, 54-43. Spencer Freedman had 12 points for Mater Dei.

In Chicago, Crespi won its semifinal tournament game with a 45-37 victory over Maine South. Brandon Williams had 16 points and Billy Oxley 13.

Los Altos (8-0) advanced to the championship game of the Covina tournament with a 67-62 win over Bonita. Freshman Jarod Lucas scored 31 points. Los Altos will play Walnut in the final.

Paraclete lost to McFarland, 54-54. Elias Bell had 17 points and nine rebounds.
