Boys’ basketball: Loyola pulls out overtime win over Chaminade

After being sidelined with a broken hand, standout Loyola guard Khristion Courseault is getting into shape, and that means problems for Cub opponents.

He scored 15 points on Monday night to help Loyola (13-5, 3-2) defeat Chaminade, 76-74, in overtime in a Mission League game.

Kevin Johnson made two free throws with two seconds left in overtime. KJ Martin had 17 points and Dayton Doucette 16 for Chaminade (13-8, 2-3).

Brentwood (13-4) and Windward (15-3) each won nonleague tournament games as they prepare to meet on Thursday at Windward in a Gold Coast League showdown.

Finn O’Rourke scored 30 points and had 10 rebounds in Brentwood’s 76-64 win over University. Daisone Hughes had 20 points for University.

Windward defeated Grand Terrace, 85-57. Jules Bernard finished with 26 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists.

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame defeated Agoura, 66-30. Ziaire Williams scored 16 points.

Harvard-Westlake was beaten by De La Salle, 43-41.

Fremont defeated Schurr, 69-66.

Deshay Gipson scored 22 points in Highland’s 58-53 win over La Salle.

Richmond Salesian defeated St. John Bosco, 45-36. James Akinjo had 26 points for Salesian.

La Canada defeated Nevada Green Valley, 77-45. Sean Estes contributed 28 points. Gardena Serra defeated Campbell Hall, 73-56.

Washington Prep defeated Cathedral, 76-61. Alan Daniels scored 15 points. Damien defeated San Dimas, 75-40.

Ryse Williams scored 25 points and Isaiah Taylor had 14 points and 14 rebounds in Redondo’s 66-51 win over Long Beach Millikan.

Randall Walker scored 18 points in Edison’s 46-39 win over Servite.

Oaks Christian defeated Village Christian, 76-70, in overtime. Jordan Jones had 16 points. Jalen Riley led Village Christian with 22 points.

Narbonne defeated Cantwell-Sacred Heart, 42-30.
