Boys’ basketball: Etiwanda is 9-0 after win over Compton

Etiwanda improved to 9-0 on Friday night in holding off Compton, 67-63, in a semifinal game of the Inland Empire Classic.

Jordan McLaughlin scored 22 points and Kameron Edwards had 19 points and 13 rebounds to help the Eagles advance to Saturday’s championship game against Chino Hills at Colony. Iziahiah Sweeney led Compton with 27 points. Chino Hills defeated Colony, 67-61. Rancho Cucamonga defeated Upland, 101-71. Victor Joseph scored 27 points.

In Sacramento, Corona Centennial defeated West Ranch, 91-64. Kyle Hamilton and Sedrick Barefield each scored 16 points.

In a nonleague game between top 25 teams, host West Hills Chaminade defeated Gardena Serra, 60-42. Jack Williams scored 19 points and had 13 rebounds. Trevor Stanback added 11 points, 16 rebounds and seven blocks.

Windward defeated Beverly Hills, 60-59, for its sixth consecutive victory. Freshman Jalen Harris and Eli Silverman each had 16 points.

In Florida, St. John Bosco defeated Greenforest, 63-55. Vance Jackson scored 22 points and Daniel Hamilton had 15.

In the North Orange County tournament, Anaheim Canyon (9-0) advanced to the championship game with a 65-45 win over Downey. Jeremy Hemsley scored 37 points in Damien’s 74-57 win over Mayfair.

In Las Vegas, Mater Dei advanced to the championship game of the Tarkanian Classic with an 84-38 win ove Redondo. Stanley Johnson scored 28 points and La’vette Parker had 22 points, including six threes. El Camino Real was beaten by Bishop O’Dowd, 63-60, and defeated Valor Christian, 67-59. Maleke Haynes had 16 points. Long Beach Poly defeated Sheldon, 70-53. Jordan Dallas scored 21 points and Kameron Murrell 20. Earlier, Mater Dei defeated Constitution, 71-37. Johnson and MJ Cage each had 21 points. Redondo defeated Lone Peak, 67-63. Ian Fox had 17 points.

In San Luis Obispo, Crespi (8-1) defeated Inglewood, 78-53. Max Heidegger scored 29 points and DJ Ursery added 21 points and 13 rebounds. Bishop Montgomery defeated Pasadena, 52-45. Justin Bibbins had 15 points. Campbell Hall defeated Colorado Chaparral, 84-71. Aaron Holiday had 32 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Sylmar defeated St. Joseph, 61-43, with Devenir Duruisseau scoring 25 points.

In the Marmonte League, Thousand Oaks defeated Agoura, 74-47. Matt Hauser scored 19 points and Luke Momacket had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Thousand Oaks is 10-1 overall and 2-0 in league. Westlake defeated Simi Valley, 64-46. Marcos Soto had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Calabasas defeated Moorpark, 64-59.

In the Golden League, Highland (7-1) defeated Knight, 56-53. Devin Burleson had 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Village Christian stayed unbeaten with an 81-49 win over Golden Valley. Jerrick Ahanmisi had 22 points and Marsalis Johnson 16.
