Boys’ basketball: Jeremy Hemsley leads Damien past Etiwanda

Etiwanda doesn’t lose very many games in the Baseline League, but Damien pulled it off on Tuesday night behind Jeremy Hemsley, who finished with 34 points and scored the game-winning basket with two seconds left in a 60-58 win over the Eagles.

Damien improved to 14-2 overall.

Rancho Cucamonga defeated Los Osos, 60-55. Tamer Jabsheh had 19 points.

Westlake held off Newbury Park, 64-61. Michael Hayon scored 18 points and Michael Hanshaw added 15. Westlake set up a showdown game with Thousand Oaks on Friday night. Thousand Oaks defeated Agoura, 67-38. Luke Romacker scored 12 points and had 10 rebounds. The Lancers are 17-2.

Oaks Christian defeated Calabasas, 60-55.

Corona Centennial defeated Riverside King, 71-25. Sedrick Barefield scored 26 points. Redondo defeated Inglewood, 74-63. Leland Green scored 26 points.

Buckley’s Austin Butler had 19 points and 16 rebounds in an 85-46 win over Santa Clara. Brendon Ferguson added 26 points.

In the Foothill League, Myles Franklin scored 25 points in Hart’s 50-40 win over Canyon. Ryan Beddeo scored 26 points in West Ranch’s 65-52 win over Valencia.

Foothill defeated Yorba Linda, 74-58. Riley O’Hern scored 30 points, including five threes. Eric Patton added 21 points.

Crossroads is 2-0 in the Gold Coast League after 63-55 win over Paraclete.
