There were lots of outstanding seniors on last season’s All-Area basketball team by The Times, and they’re already contributing in college as freshmen.

Former Fairfax guard Lindsey Drew made his collegiate debut for Nevada, finishing with four points and six assists in a win over Coastal Carolina.

Former Damien guard Jeremy Hemsley had 20 points for San Diego State in a win over Illinois State. He was The Times’ player of the year last season.

Former Maranatha guard Tyler Dorsey had 20 points in Oregon’s win over Jackson State.

Former Bishop Montgomery guard Stephen Thompson Jr. had 12 points in Oregon State’s win over Northwest Christian.

Former Village Christian forward Bennie Boatwright had 10 points in USC’s win over San Diego.
