Boys’ basketball: Sierra Canyon wins in nationally televised showdown

Chatsworth Sierra Canyon gained national attention on Monday afternoon, beating a team ranked No. 1 in America by some publications, Indiana La Lumiere, 76-74, in a nationally televised game from Springfield, Ma.
The Trailblazers (16-1) rallied from a nine-point third quarter deficit. They got clutch free throws from Remy Martin and Cody Riley in the final 21 seconds to hand La Lumiere its first loss in 17 games. The closest La Laumiere had come to getting beat was 14 points.
Marvin Bagley III scored 20 points, Martin had 18 points and Riley 15. The Trailblazers were joyous in their locker room afterward.
In an earlier game, Bishop Montgomery was beaten by Florida Montverde, 73-67. David Singleton scored 20 points and Ethan Thompson 19.
