Boys’ basketball: Trevor Stanback, Tyler Dorsey are headed to Maranatha

Trevor Stanback, a 6-foot-10 junior who helped West Hills Chaminade win a state Division III championship this past season in basketball, and Tyler Dorsey, who helped St. John Bosco win a state Division II title, are transferring to Pasadena Maranatha, Coach Tim Tucker confirmed on Friday.

“I’m concerned about his total development,” Harry Stanback said of his son.

Stanback has known Tucker for some 20 years.

Stanback said his family intends to move, which would make his son eligible immediately.

As for Dorsey, one of the top seniors in Southern California, his sister has attended Maranatha.

“They’re good basketball players,” Tucker said. “We’re excited.”
