Compton Centennial’s Eriana Pula shows girl power in football

Share

Eriana Pula didn’t just play football this season for Compton Centennial. She was a starter at nose guard and on the offensive line. She’s also the student body president and has a 4.3 grade-point average.

She was selected to be the first female participant for an all-star game next month in Sacramento.

It was a tough challenge for her and her male teammates this season. Centennial went 0-10 with a small roster of 21.

But she did her job so well that centers didn’t know they were blocking against a girl until after the game when they shook hands.

She said one opponent told her, ‘Oh, man, you’re a beast.’”

She also played football as a sophomore but felt it was much better this season as a senior being older and more prepared.

She hopes to attend a UC school or local college next season. But her football days are over after the all-star game.
