In the office of Narbonne Coach Manuel Douglas, the top shelf has run out of room because there’s so many City Section championshp football trophies, including a state championshp trophy from last season.

To keep winning championships, you need underrated players who simply do their job and don’t worry whether they’re noticed. Dominic Peterson has been one of those players.

In visiting the school earlier this week, there was Peterson dancing in the weight room while lifting weights. There he was smiling on the field while doing workouts. His passion and commitment are clear.

He’s also one of the Narbonne’s most versatile players. He’s the team’s starting defensive tackle at 6 feet 1, 235 pounds. He also can play defensive end, linebacker, fullback, tight end. He was a contributor for the Gauchos’ Marine League championshp basketball team.

When he isn’t wearing a hat, his red hair makes him easily identifiable. And when you see him play with pads on, watch for the guy always near the ball, always hustling, always contributing.

He was in on 107 tackles last season, which means he really shouldn’t be underrated.
