Dylan Klumph of Encino Crespi got a chance Friday night to show how strong his leg truly is.
Coming back from a torn ACL suffered in January while snow boarding to his plant leg, Klumph kicked a school-record 54-yard field goal to help the Celts defeat Loyola, 32-14, in a Serra League game.
“It was definitely exciting,” Klumph said.
Klumph had special platelet rich plasma treatment when he had surgery in April that speeded up his recovery.
It was his first field goal of the season. He had been mainly kicking on kickoffs.
The win puts Crespi (3-4, 1-0) as the only unbeaten team in league play.
