Football: Long Beach Poly-Narbonne matchup tops this week’s schedule
There are five matchups of top 25 teams this coming week, led by the Long Beach Poly at Narbonne showdown on Thursday night.
Poly won its opener in Arizona. Narbonne will be making its season debut. It’s a 7 p.m. game that will be televised by Time Warner Cable.
Other top 25 games include Friday night games featuring Orange Lutheran at Crespi, Rancho Cucamonga at Norco (Prime Ticket) and Tesoro vs. Santa Ana Mater Dei at Santa Ana Stadium. On Saturday, Gardena Serra will play Corona Centennial at Oceanside High as part of the Honor Bowl.
Virtually all City Section games will be played on Thursday, because Friday is a no-work day in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Among the featured games are Arleta (1-0) at South Gate (1-0) and Kennedy (1-0) at Cleveland (1-0).
