Football: Newbury Park could be newest top team
- Share via
It has been years since Newbury Park was considered a top team in Ventura County. You have to go back to the Keith Smith quarterback days.
But this season, the Panthers are gone from the Marmonte League. No more Westlake. No more St. Bonaventure. No more Oaks Christian.
And it comes when the Panthers have added lots of talented new players, led by the Holmes brothers, Darnay and Darick. They’ll join standout returnees Zach Okun (lineman) and Matthew Matlock (running back).
Newbury Park will be competing in the Camino League with Royal, Thousand Oaks and Camarillo. It should be a competitive league.
