Football: Rain is forecast for Friday’s semifinals
- Share via
Rain is forecast for Thursday and Friday, which means the Southern Section and City Section semifinals could have wet field conditions.
In the Southern Section Pac-5, Mission Hills Alemany is scheduled to host St. John Bosco on its grass field. A final decision is expected on Monday. Alemany will likely have to bring in extra bleachers to be given clearance to keep the game at Alemany.
Mater Dei will play Long Beach Poly at Veterans Stadium, which has an all-weather field.
In the City Section Division I, Crenshaw is hosting Venice and has an all-weather field. Narbonne is hosting Carson on its grass and likely muddy field.
Rain and wet conditions will put pressure on quarterbacks, centers, long snappers, holders and the ball boys. A dry ball will be much in demand.
