Football: UCLA gets the No. 1 player in Southern California, Jaleel Wadood

There will still be debate over who’s the No. 1 senior college prospect in Southern California, but there’s little doubt the player who’s having the best overall season is St. John Bosco defensive back-receiver Jaleel Wadood, and he announced on Tuesday he has committed to UCLA.

Wadood was previously a Cal commit. He has made a huge impact on both sides of the ball playing receiver and safety for 14-0 St. John Bosco.

It puts the Bruins in position for the second consecutive year to come away with the player who had the best season in 2012. That was Thomas Duarte of Mater Dei.
