Girls’ basketball: Palisades is favored for another City Section title
- Share via
Palisades will be seeking its second consecutive City Section Open Division girls’ basketball championship on Saturday at 6 p.m. against El Camino Real at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
The Dolphins had better take a moment to enjoy every second with their coach, Torino Johnson, because there’s no telling who might try to steal him away in the coming years.
He has turned Palisades into a powerhouse and another City title will only add to his growing resume of success.
Palisades (23-8) is certainly entering the game in top form, led by Chelsey Gipson, who is averaging 17.6 points. Another important contributor has been freshman Kayla Williams, averaging 12.0 points.
El Camino Real (24-8) has hope if it can get another strong performance from improving sophomore Kianna Hamilton-Fisher.
