High school ice hockey league expands to 41 teams

The Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League is adding 13 teams and increasing to five divisions when play begins on Sept. 5.
Forty-one teams from 27 schools will participate in the league.
The top division, Varsity 1, is adding Damien and Huntington Beach Edison.
The Ducks launched the league on July 1, 2008, with JSerra as the charter member.
This year, teams from Phoenix, Colorado Springs and Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, are being added along with Palm Springs, Conejo Valley, Torrance and Bellflower.
