The sitout period for athletes who transferred without moving ends on Monday for spring sports athletes, and Huntington Beach couldn’t be happier, because it means standout junior Nick Pratto will become eligible.
The two-way player is expected to make his pitching debut in a Sunset League game against Los Alamitos. He will help fill to void of losing Logan Pouelsen to season-ending Tommy John surgery.
Pratto was a standout at Santa Ana Mater Dei. He’s committed to USC.
South Hills is also getting eligible a top transfer student in Jacob Amaya from Northview.
Corona Santiago adds infielder Cole Cummings and pitcher-outfielder Manny Perez from Corona Centennial.
There are lots of other athletes who have been practicing and will make an immediate impact this coming week. Stay tuned.
