Track: Southern Section finals are Saturday at Cerritos College
Get ready for lots of top performances at Saturday’s Southern Section track and field championships at Cerritos College.
Field events begin at 10 a.m. and running events at 1 p.m.
Vista Murrieta is the team to watch in Division 1 boys, led by junior Michael Norman, the heavy favorite to win the 400 and 200.
T.J. Brock of Chaminade should put on a show in the Division 3 100 and 200.
Shot putter Matt Katnik of St. John Bosco is the best in the nation.
In the girls’ competition, Zaria Francis of Rio Mesa and Lauren Rain Williams of Oaks Christian are the athletes to watch in the sprints. Jasmyne Graham of Roosevelt has the best times in the state in the hurdles.
