Helio Castroneves OK after flipping car at Indy 500 practice [Video]
Helio Castroneves is fine.
Just keep that in mind as you watch the video from his scary crash Wednesday during practice for the Indianapolis 500.
No other cars were near Castroneves when his car started wiggling as it went through the first turn at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s first turn.
The three-time Indy 500 winner then lost control of the vehicle, which spun into the outer wall, then skidded along backward until the wind lifted it up and flipped it over.
After landing upside down, the car rolled back over onto its wheels.
Castroneves needed no assistance climbing out of the car. He was taken to the speedway’s infield medical center and was later cleared and released.
